you take travel as it comes really.Traffic, hold ups, delays. They usually come as part of the packege. However, Mum said she could tell people had been praying for us as we got off the coach at gatwick airport without experiancing any of the above.
the airport wasn't crowded and there were no lomg queues (for us anyway) It was so easy.
we checked in our bags and strolled around the airport for a couple of hours waiting for our gate to open.
At around 6 o'clock we were boarding onto the plane.
the large airport soon turned into a miniture city that looked as if we could pick it up in one hand. we flew through black clouds until they just looked like layers of candyfloss below us. It took us just an hour before we touched back to earth. We were in Italy's capital city, just waiting to be up in the air again.
It didnt take long for the plane to be refuled and we were soon jetting up the runway.
Dinner was served to us around 10pm and then i decided it was time to sleep... 5 in the morning i awoke and was served breakfast almost straight away.
11 hours later i looked out of the window and saw a mass of sea inches below us and small islands every where. the plane curved and here we were, stepping onto new ground.
we were greeted be jane and her husband, stephen. hugs and smiles were passed and we knew we were welcomed.
The car - now that was fun! it was an old car that only worked with a strugle. and the roads were tough. steepest roads i had ever seen. and soon the cars gears stopped working so we were stranded out side citimart supermarket. After a few phone calls we finally got through to Jane (who had been in another car) who came to pick us up. as we drove up the hills it felt like the car would topple over as they were so steep.
we arrived at the house. a big house with double front doors. tiled floor every where and a sense of home about it. we were here at long last!
